If you use a CRM or Marketing Automation software, you may well be familiar with the concept (and sometimes pain!) of working with duplicate records. We've outlined the different instances of duplicate data and how this may work with your integration with Akkroo.
Duplicate leads in Akkroo & what is sent through to your system
Akkroo uses the email address as the unique identifier in our integrations and will mark duplicates based on this. This is similar to how Hubspot approach this challenge.
Akkroo pushes new records to the Integration the first time the email address is used in an event. If the same email address is given on any subsequent records, the data will be stored in Akkroo, however the data will not be sent to the Integration again.
What happens when the data reaches your system
Depending on which marketing automation or CRM system you use, you have the choice of how Akkroo will push data through.
For integrations to Marketo, Hubspot and Oracle Eloqua you can choose to update an existing lead/contact if we can find a matching email address, or alternatively we can just create a new lead/contact.
For those using Salesforce, we will search by email address for existing contacts and update the most recently updated record.
Please note that each of these platforms will have their own systems for determining and dealing with duplicate data. Should you choose only to create new records this could be impacted by your duplication settings in that platform.
